Is your lubricant storage area working for you?
Almost every industrial operation has a lube room or some central area where lubricants are stored. Contamination issues often start there and are already a problem by the time the lubricants are introduced into the equipment. Knowing this, LE helps many of its customers transform these areas into world class lubrication storage rooms that incorporate the latest in lubrication best practices. A lubricant storage upgrade is a great continuous improvement project and has the potential for a tremendous positive impact on your organization.
Improving your lubricant storage room encompasses several activities and benefits, including:
- Consolidating lubricant inventory and reducing amount of space needed for storage
- Identifying and color-coding lubricants to increase efficiency and reduce mistakes
- Reducing or eliminating contamination before it creates problems
- Improving safety

Metal storage containers
The IFH Group is the developer and manufacturer of centralized fluid storage and dispensing systems as well as mobile lubrication carts. Their proven products provide solutions for nearly all of the fluid handling problems manufacturing companies face. The IFH fluid storage and dispensing systems store product close to the work area, reducing handling costs up to 80%. It reduces retrieval time up to 50-70% compared to drums or pumps. There is no drum tipping, pump cleaning or switching, and no major pump replacement costs. It saves you money, time and space.
IFH systems are available in 21 standard configurations and come equipped with powder-coated or stainless steel containers that remain permanently on the rack structure. Each container has a liquid level sight gauge to allow for constant inventory control, eliminating shortages or overstocked product. The 65-gallon capacity of each container allows a 55-gallon drum to be transferred into a container on the system before the product is completely gone. The system provides clean and efficient transfer of lubricant. Its containment pans catch any drips or spills. The result is a clean, safe, efficient storage area.
